People: How to unlock a user

Procedure

A user with administrator clearance can unlock the user by following these steps:

  1. From the main menu, navigate to the Administration > Users or People > Users & Drivers.
  2. Select the user that is locked out from the list (Use the search bar at the top to search for a specific user if the list is too long).
  3. At the top of the page select Unlock.

  4. Select Unlock again on the pop-up to confirm.

Note: The user should now be able to log in again.

Additional Notes

  • Only the Administrator security clearance can unlock profiles. Even if the user is a sub-clearance of an Administrator, they will not be able to utilize this feature.
  • The unlock button will not appear if the selected user is not locked out.

  • For Geotab's Support to unlock a user, written consent via email or chat is mandatory from the requesting user prior to unlocking a user on their behalf.
