How to Apply the Adverse Driving Conditions Exemption in the Drive App

1. Navigate to the Geotab Drive menu at the top left hand corner
2. Select HOS
3. Select View Exemptions
4. Select Apply Today for Adverse driving conditions

In order to use this exemption, the driver must have a ruleset that includes the Adverse Driving Conditions and it has to be switched to ON in the driver's HOS settings.

Check the Hours of Service Ruleset Matrix document for information on the supported rulesets and exemptions.

Once the Adverse Driving Exemption is applied, drivers can remove it by tapping the same button they used to enable it.

This exemption only allows for 2 extra hours of driving, it does not extend the workday. If the 2 extra hours are not used, no violation will be imposed.

The Adverse Driving Conditions exemption cannot be applied from the MyGeotab database, only from the Drive App.
