Expandability: How to troubleshoot Surfsight camera

Procedure

If you are an Order Now customer and using the Geotab developed add-in

  1. Validate that the camera and the MyGeotab Add-ins are both present in the database.
  2. Ensure that the camera is paired with the correct GO device, instructions can be found in the Geotab Camera Add-In User Guide.
  3. Navigate to Map from the main menu, and click an asset with a camera paired on the map; if the camera is offline, click the "Wake up and retry" button.
  4. Using the Device Health Report determine if the camera is communicating with the server.
  5. If the camera is not communicating verify that the SIM card is properly installed and active, instructions can be found in the Insert the SIM and SD Cards Video Tutorial.
  6. In order to pair a Surfsight camera to a new/different GO device, you first have to unpair it from the SurfSight Partner Portal. 


If you are using the Lytx/Surfisight developed add-in (Non order-now)

  1. Validate that the camera and the MyGeotab Add-ins are both present in the database.
  2. Ensure that the camera is paired with the correct GO device, instructions can be found in the Assign the Surfsight AI-12 Dashcam to a Vehicle on MyGeotab.
  3. Navigate to the Surfsight Add-in page and select the "Health" button.
  4. Using the Device Health Report determine if the camera is communicating with the server.
  5. If the camera is not communicating verify the SIM card is properly installed and active, instructions can be found in the Insert the SIM and SD Cards Video Tutorial.

If it's non-Order Now, please refer the client back to Fleet Holster for further troubleshooting and assistance.
