MyGeotab: Can I change the VIN associated with an OEM serial number?

Answer

No, the VIN associated with an OEM serial number cannot be changed once the asset profile has been created. Changing the VIN in the Asset Profile will not change the association on the back end, and any data reported under that profile will belong to the original VIN. If you wish to change the OEM serial number associated with a VIN, you must terminate the old device and repeat the procedure and to register and add a new device.
