Hardware and Firmware: What happens to driver association when an NFC tag doesn't get touched to the NFC reader?

Answer

There are two things that can happen, depending on if Driver Identification reminder is set to "ON" or "OFF" in the vehicle profile.

  1. If Driver Identification Reminder is set to "On", the ignition off will trigger driver disassociation from the vehicle.
  2. If Driver Identification Reminder is set to "OFF", the ignition off will not trigger driver disassociation from the vehicle, and driver will stay assigned to vehicle till there is a new fob swipe.
