Symptoms
- Drive logs are longer and have different locations than what is shown on Trips History
Cause
Per ELD specifications, Drive logs 'end' after 5 minutes of zero speed. Geotab creates trips based on 200 seconds of zero speed. This means that sometimes numerous Geotab Trips will be covered by the same Drive log. This is normal and is not a cause for concern.
ELD specifications also require locations to be shown relative to large city/town locations, ie. 5 miles NE of Chicago, or 10km SSE of Toronto. This is also normal. These cities and towns are either of >5000 population (for USA) or from a specific list of cities/towns (for Canada, furnished by the CCMTA).
